The University of Southern California Leventhal School of Accounting is seeking applications for a full-time Director of Graduate Programs. Reporting to the Senior Administrator, the Director will lead the Graduate Programs team in supporting Leventhal’s top-ranked Master of Accounting (MAcc) program, the full-time Jennifer and James R. Parks Master of Business Taxation (MBT) program, the part-time MBT for Working Professionals, and the newly developed Business Taxation Certificate.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the Graduate Programs team, which consists of the Associate Director of Admissions, Associate Director for Graduate Advising, and Associate Director, Career Strategist. Provide supervision, support the team’s efforts (including but not limited to interviewing applicants, advising students, responding to student concerns), and help promote an inclusive and efficient work environment.

  • Design and execute a strategic plan that furthers the goals of the Graduate Programs. Gather and assess input from the team, Leventhal’s senior leadership, faculty, students, and other constituents. Implement and update information systems to collect data. Leverage data to identify trends and develop objectives.

  • In consultation with the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs, the Academic Director for the MBT Program, and other faculty, evaluate, update, and maintain curricula and class schedules that are in line with Leventhal’s mission.

  • Liaise with multiple groups (e.g., students, alumni, employers, Leventhal advisory board members, Marshall and University personnel, colleagues from other institutions, representatives from accounting and other professional associations) to stay current on issues, trends, concerns, initiatives, policies, processes, and technologies that impact graduate education and the accounting profession.

  • Report on the status of the Graduate Programs to the Dean, faculty, Board of Councilors, Marshall, and other entities, and present information at faculty meetings, the annual Board of Councilors meetings, and other discussions.

  • In partnership with the Senior Administrator, develop a budget for the Graduate Programs. Monitor expenses and ensure the Graduate Programs team remains in compliance with all expense and reimbursement guidelines.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Anticipated Hiring Range:

The annual base salary range for this position is $85,770.45 - $114,978.51. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
