Job Summary

The Director of Educational Partnerships in the College of Engineering will create a partnership strategy for the college with high schools, middle schools, and other statewide partners. This position will proactively initiate and build strong partnerships between high schools, middle schools, and the College of Engineering with the intent to interest a diverse cadre of pre-college students in engineering and encourage them to consider and choose to enroll in Purdue Engineering. The position will also build educational partnerships with Purdue Extension, 4-H, and others in the state of Indiana, as well as create stronger ties with other educational institutions in Indiana for the purposes of transfer to Purdue. The position will be a liaison between many organizations and departments at Purdue (e.g., Office of Admissions, Office of Future Engineers, Minority Engineering Program, Women in Engineering, etc.) for partners.

What We Are Looking For

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:    
REQUIRED:

  • Bachelors’ degree in business, communications, or related field
  • 6-7 years of experience working with college and/or high school students and partnership building
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
    • For example, an Associate's degree and 8-9 years of experience or a High School Diploma / GED and 10-11 years of experience

 

PREFERRED:

  • Master’s degree     

 

SKILLS:

REQUIRED:

  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to quality and reliability
  • Strong relationship building skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow through on commitments and meet deadlines, take initiative to solve problems, and find resources to drive projects to completion
  • Ability to use good judgment and common sense to make ethical decisions
  • Ability to interface with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including students, parents, faculty, and staff
  • Computer proficiency in common office software, such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must be creative, thorough, and professional, and balance multiple and varied tasks with changing priorities
  • Knowledge of best practices in cultivating educational partnerships

 

PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of programs and majors in the College of Engineering at Purdue University
