Director of Business Operations

Summary
The Director of Business Operations leads the team providing financial, administrative, and logistical support for the Campus Services' division. This includes work outcome analysis, financial forecasting and modeling, productivity reporting, inventory management, payroll and human capital management, contracts, and job cost accounting. 
The Director develops and oversees all accounting, budgeting, procurement, accounts payable, payroll and time and attendance information and reporting for all Campus Services departments in a 24/7 environment. This position supervises assigned employees, both direct and indirect. Participates in formulating and implementing strategic financial decisions for Campus Services. Assists with projecting, allocating and adjusting staffing levels and organizational structure to meet changing conditions. Assists in development of policies and procedures that impact all areas of operations for Campus Services or that may impact the University Community as customers of Campus Services. Makes presentations to university departments and other outside constituents on related topics. Represents the Campus Services as assigned on university committees and acts as a liaison between the university and outside vendors on behalf of Campus Services.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Expert knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
• Proficient computer skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software applications
• Expert knowledge of facilities management software TMA, and business intelligence software (Tableau or Power Bl).
• Self-reliant and results oriented
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
• Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives
• Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management.
• Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker
• Excellent interpersonal and resource management skills; ability to interact effectively and courteously with internal and external contacts at all levels
• Excellent organizational skills: ability to effectively prioritize work assignments, work independently, and meet established or anticipated deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work performed
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 5 years of professional business management experience
• 3 years of progressive management experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 6 years of professional business management experience
• 4 years of progressive management experience
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 27.
