Description

 

Plans and manages effective development communications materials for the University such as acknowledgements, proposals, stewardship reports, publications and editorials.

  • Serves as liaison between the University Relations writing team and the Development directors in interpreting priorities and schedules to ensure timely and accurate work.
  • Provides editorial support for university-wide communication projects as needed; provides general technical knowledge and experience in writing, editing and communication.
  • Coordinates work with a broad group of writers/editors.
  • Develops and implements project management procedures and systems.
  • Researches, writes and edits funding proposals to support the university's highest priorities.
  • Produces donor recognition reports, marketing documents, publications progress reports, etc.
  • Works closely with other advancement communications departments and integrates efforts where possible.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

    • Experience with writing proposals
    •       Provide two writing samples (if possible, provide an example of a written proposal)
    •       Lead the development of compelling narratives and engaging content through creative writing and storytelling techniques, while also guiding and managing team members to achieve the same high standards.
    •        Assist in developing communication campaigns to enhance the Division of Advancement and Alumni effectively.
     

    Qualifications

     

    Bachelors and 5 years experience

    Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
