Job Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Athletics Director of Business Operations, the Director of Operations – Olympic Sports will play an integral role in the day-to-day management of athletic operations. The Director of Operations – Olympic Sports will be responsible for processing of business documents such as journal entries, purchase orders, invoices and coordinating travel. The Director of Operations – Olympic Sports will assist in identifying cost saving initiatives and creating operational efficiencies for Department business related functions. Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletics Director of Business Operations.

Essential Functions of Position:

  • Coordinates all aspects of team travel operations.
  • Processes purchase requisitions/purchase orders/monitoring of purchase commitments.
  • Processes all designated sports related invoices.
  • Assist with budget management.
  • Assists in the coordination of recruiting travel.
  • Oversight of general office operations including office supplies, telecommunications, computer hardware and software, etc.
  • Manage deposits.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Sports Management, or related field. A minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in financial and operations management. A minimum of 1 year experience in Division I collegiate athletics. Prior Experience in reconciliation management and reporting.  Demonstrated budget and financial reporting experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred:
2-4 years plus of directly related experience.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrate a proven track record in building quality relationships.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with best practices in financial reporting, budget management, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and University rules.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Must be able to work a highly variable schedules including nights and weekends.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
