Princeton University Campus Recreation seeks to improve the health and well-being of the University community through the core principles of fitness and wellness, healthy competition, lifelong skill development, and community-building. These guiding principles aim to improve the quality of life on campus and strengthen the ties between and among undergraduates, graduate students, faculty/staff, and community. Campus Recreation provides educational and leadership opportunities through instructional programs, intramural activities, sport club teams, and student employment for diverse levels of skill and ability.

 

Dillon Gym Evening Supervisor will serve as an active member of the Campus Recreation staff and provide leadership to the area of facilities and operations. This position will also assist with facility scheduling and maintenance along with event operations and other duties as assigned.



FACILITY OPERATIONS
o Work with the Facilities and Fitness professional staff in the administration, operation and management of Dillon Gym.
o Assist with the hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and payroll of the 60 -70 part-time workers (Student and Casual Hourly Building Supervisors) and facilities area interns working in Dillon Gym.
o Oversight of front desk business operations including but not limited to the use of the departmental registration system to make all sales (memberships, programming, equipment, personal training, etc.), equipment checkout, locker assignments, lost/found and first aid inventory.
o Interact with the patrons of the facility and resolve customer service complaints/concerns.

o Be a positive resource of information for Dillon Gym, Campus Rec and Princeton University in general.
o Enforce all policies and procedures in regard to the usage and safety standards of the facility.
o Communicate all department and University risk management policies to employees. Assist in the development of a risk management program to ensure a safe environment for participants. 

 

FACILITY SCHEDULING
o Assist with daily building scheduling for both internal Athletic and external University group requests.

 

FACILITY MAINTENANCE
o Assist in facilitating annual preventative maintenance projects (August project shutdown, locker cleanout, etc.).

 

EVENT OPERATIONS
o Assist in the event management of all special events and Dillon Gym varsity matches as needed.

 

OTHER DUTIES
o Perform all other duties as assigned.
o Adhere to Ivy League, ECAC, EIVA, EIWA and NCAA rules and regulations.



• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Functional computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Highly organized.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
• The ability to lift at least 45 pounds to waist level.
