The University of Miami UHealth System is currently seeking a Digital Imaging Supervisor. The incumbent manages the daily operational activities pertaining to the record maintenance of Imaging Services patients.  Supervisor performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties that support consumer services in and out of the department. Independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative are essential in addition to responsibility for designated areas.  Employee must adhere to PHI “minimum necessary” compliance standards at all times.

CORE JOB FUCNTIONS

1.    Able to perform and oversee job functions of Digital Imaging (DI) technicians I & II.
2.    Supervises and trains department staff and implements and maintains an internal monitoring program
to assess the accuracy and productivity.
3.    Support the workflow at the UM Imaging counters to import/export digital studies, documents to/from PACS or UChart and process film jacket/CDs requests via telephone, fax and/or in person.
4.    Work directly with Radiologist, Imaging department management team, and patients to resolve imaging report issues.
5.    Assists in developing and implementing job standards, policies, and procedures, and ensures staff
compliance with state and federal regulations.
6.    Interacts with other departments and medical staff members when documentation problems are
identified.
7.    Participates in organizational wide initiatives, develops department action plans, and engages staff to accomplish goals.
8.    Works with the department Director to establish and maintain department wide clinical quality standards.
9.    Produces weekly reports to review and verify that established daily productivity standards are met and
maintained.
10.    Implements and maintains efficient medical records systems.
11.    Respond to imaging record inquiry escalations, in person, via fax, telephone and general medical records e-mail in compliance with hospital requirements. 
12.    Keep current the radiology film tracking system.
13.    Provide monthly radiology statistics report for administration.
14.    Perform assigned quality performance reviews and analysis.
15.    Review, edit and present Film Library SOP’s.
16.    Prepares and maintains special project requests for clinicians and Radiologists. 
17.    Manage KRONOS timesheets for direct reports (DI Technicians).
18.    Radiology/IT/Image Archive Application Liaison (Merge, Ambra & Powershare) maintain cloud-based image share applications user database and SharePoint Facilitate Imaging report quality initiatives as assigned by the Radiology Patient Safety Director.
19.    Oversee the m-Power mismatch evaluation process (sex/Gender, Missing Laterality & Incomplete US), referring Physician not found queue list and notification of missing images in a study.
20.    Audits and maintains departmental processes to ensure continual process improvement.
21.    Conducts regular meetings with upper management and Digital Imaging staff.
22.    Shares responsibility for the development, interpretation, application and implementation of departmental policies, budget and strategic plans.
23.    Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and
compliance with university policies and procedures. 
24.    Complies with the hospital, Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, State requirements and works closely with the HIPAA Privacy Office to ensure HIPAA compliance.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS                                                                                               

Education: 

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

Four (4) years of HII &/or HIM experience required.
