Location: Columbia, Missouri 
Shift: Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 4:30pm, every other weekend


Department: Clinical Nutrition 
Salary Range: $14.80 to $23.32 per hour based on experience

Responsibilities: 


  • Communicate with medical and nursing departments to optimize nutrition care and ensure the quality and delivery of food. 
  • Counsel patients and their families on prescribed diets. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of nutrition services and interventions, responding to patient nutritional care inquiries or referring them to the clinical dietitian as necessary. 
  • Conduct regular patient rounds to assess nutrition intake adequacy and patient satisfaction with meals and meal service. 
  • Rescreen patients who were not initially identified as being at risk for malnutrition upon admission but have a length of stay greater than 5 days, to ensure all at-risk patients receive appropriate assessment by a dietitian. 
  • Modify menu selections for patients at the Missouri Psychiatric Center (MUPC) in compliance with diet orders and dietitian instructions. 
  • Perform unit/department-specific duties and meet expectations as outlined in departmental documents.

    Qualifications

     

    Required Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics, or admission in a coordinated or didactic dietetic program, or Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). 

  • Additional license or certification requirements as determined by the hiring department are preferred.

    Physical Demands: 


    The job requires the ability to ambulate, maintain a stationary position, and position oneself to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees.
