Primary role:
The Applicatio n Analyst is primarily responsible for the development, deployment, post -implementation support, product design and testing cycles of the Maestr o Care(Epic) Inpatient Electronic Health Record (EHR) for the OpTime/Ane sthesia modules and for the Perioperative Clinical Applications.  This i ncludes planning, performing, managing, and supporting identified OpTime /Anesthesia and Perioperative Clinical Application users in the Duke env ironment. 

The incumbent will work closely with Epic a nd identified other Maestro Care applications staff to create and carry out deployment tasks, clinical workflow interpretation, and participate in Maestro Care OpTime and Anesthesia application build, testing and sup port. The incumbent

will work closely with clinical leaders in Perioperative, Anesthesia, and Central Sterile departments, as well as various Duke Health Technology Solution teams.

  A dvise and assist with educational issues, including cross-training of te am members, end-users and DHTS Service Desk via face-to-face, via phone or email and via training classes. 

Act as Maestro Car e Inpatient EHR application expert for base functionality.  Update test plans to account for testing of new features with all releases. Particip ate in the design and specification of bug-fixes to ensure they meet the needs of the Duke environment, as well as participate in design session s and review of specifications for new features and enhancements in the Maestro Care Inpatient EHR. Work with others on the Application Support team to manage all user access to Maestro Care Inpatient EHR systems and track changes. Develop proficiency in Maestro Care Anesthesia in additi on to OpTime.

This position is expected to be filled at Level 2.


Level 2:
Perform in-depth a nalysis of end-user department workflows, data collection, report detail s, and other technical issues associated with Epic software as they rela te to system design and build decisions

  • Proact ively complete assigned Maestro Care application deployment(s), man agement and testing tasks within a defined timeline
  • Manage the documentation, resolution, and completion of ide ntified deployment issues and tasks
  • Build, test, and debug Epic application(s) to ensure the system meets end-user r equirements
  • Responsible for writing and exe cuting test plans, documenting and resolving defects within Quality Center
  • Develop and document system and user procedures
  • Develop report specifications an d work closely with report writers to ensure all operational and re gulatory reporting needs are met including reports necessary to comply with Meaningful Use requirements
  • Provide both business and after hours support for issues around system producti on support including the analysis, prioritization, and implementati on of requested changes, analysis of new functionality, coordinatio n of software release updates, system testing andinterface enhance ments
  • Requires current Epic OpTime and Anest hesia certification or the ability to complete certifications withi n the defined timeline.
  • Makes oral and written presentations to project teams, management, and other departments.
  • Coordinates and operationalizes simple to comp lex projects with direction.
  • Identifies areas for procedural improvements. Provides detailed specifications describi ng functions to be automated.

·          Interprets and analyzes systems, data, and informatio n with supervision.

·         Implements applications, tools, processes and structures that assist end users wit h the management of data in their business unit.

·          Provides systems support, including troubleshooting a nd the configuration and testing of software.

·          Ensures security of technology solutions with supervisio n.

·         Provides analysis and advan ced support including hardware maintenance, trouble shooting, component replacement and repair, system monitoring and the installation and maint enance of software.

·         Ensures se curity of technology solutions including maintenance and development of ISOPs as well as assisting in vulnerability management.


Education/Training:
Bachelor degree, pr eferably in computer science or a clinical field, or offsetting clinical or IT experience. Prefer nursing experience in the perioperative enviro nment.

Experience Level 2
Three years of progressive healthcare IT experience.

Level 2
In addition to the requirements described for the Level 2 req uires: Epic OpTime and Anesthesia certification strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

Bachelor's degree in a related clinical or technical field, or four years of equivalent technical experience required. LEVEL 2: Certification of Application preferred but not required.  


Experience

 Level 2 - Two years of related experience is required.
