About the Opportunity
The PBS North Carolina Development Producer is a strategic and creative professional responsible for providing mission driven storytelling to support and articulate PBS North Carolina's value proposition to amplify the organization's fundraising and sustainability activities. Strategically driven by the priorities of the Development Division the producer will conceptualize, plan, manage, capture, edit, caption, publish, and distribute multimedia assets intended for broadcast, digital and print platforms. As a member of the Development Division's Impact team, this position will bring visual stories to life that support divisional objectives, balancing requests, meeting project objectives, managing projects with different levels of production needs, using a variety of cinematographic techniques, editing to deadline, and working cross departmentally with other PBS NC divisions including Content, Education, Engineering/Technology and Marketing Communications. This position participates in and contributes to multimedia content development, facilitates the process for asset and project delivery, and stays abreast of trends in media as it is used in mission driven marketing. The Development Producer's direct responsibility is to plan and implement multi-channel media content for impact story-telling and fundraising initiatives. This position reports to the Director of Impact, while also collaborating closely with other members of the Development team.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

About the Team
The PBS North Carolina Development Division is to expand and diversify revenue sources to drive sustainable growth for the organization. The division accomplishes this by generating solicitations and campaigns based in both emotion and intelligence, heart and data.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, production, filmmaking, or related fields required; three to five years of experience as a respected content creator across traditional analog and digital platforms; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The person in this position must have a passion for identifying and/or creating diverse content for diverse audiences and must have a strong understanding of new storytelling trends as well as media's fast evolving landscape. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Extensive experience with videographic equipment, software; video and sound equipment; Adobe Premiere and After Effects. Strong storytelling ability and understanding of a wide array of narrative techniques. Extensive knowledge of both the artistic and technical qualities of videography.

Preferred Experience and Skills
Valid Driver's License; The successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: * Strong ability to assess and identify opportunities for visual media to aid in achieving division objectives * Experience in a non-profit environment with mission driven storytelling * Ability to create and adapt visual assets within a brand framework * Proficiency with photographic equipment and software * Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator) * Proficiency with Mac platform and advanced office software * Proficiency with motion graphics, typography and design
