DevSecOps Technology Intern (Bachelor's or Master's Students)

The DevSecOps Technology Intern  will play an integral role in delivering on some of the most meaningful projects in communities across the United States and the world. AIR’s 2024 Virtual Summer Internship Program is designed to identify, attract, and hire the best collegiate talent that will drive creativity and innovation while enabling the organization to create a diverse and skilled talent pool. Spanning 10 – 12 weeks, AIR’s paid summer program provides Interns and Scholars with various learning and networking opportunities that enhance their skillset and build lasting professional connections. The internship period may range from mid-May through the end of August 2024 depending on student availability.

 

AIR is currently seeking enthusiastic and tech-savvy Interns to join our team. This position is ideal for someone passionate about automating and optimizing operations, engineering, and development processes, with a specific focus on Microsoft Azure OpenAI and Microsoft Copilot integrations. The intern will receive hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in a real-world setting, while being mentored by experienced professionals in the field of DevSecOps and software development.

Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations. This does not include U.S. territories.

The responsibilities for the position include: 

  • Develop and test integrations for Microsoft Copilot within our projects, utilizing connectors and plugins to enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with our development team to identify workflow bottlenecks and propose solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Document processes, setups, and configurations to ensure reproducibility and to assist with onboarding of future team members.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to report progress and discuss innovative approaches to challenges.
  • Collaborate with IT to bridge the gap between development processes and hosting, then document conventions for developers to follow.
  • Augment and maintain a comprehensive list of all web applications including their stakeholders and developers.
  • Help develop automated test scripts to validate the accuracy and integrity of our applications using tools like Selenium.
  • Research and implement GitHub Actions to automate CI/CD pipelines for applications, ensuring seamless deployments and updates.
  • Work with Helm charts to manage Kubernetes deployments of applications, optimizing for scalability and reliability.


Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Must be a student (for the duration of the internship) enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with Drupal and its ecosystem is highly desirable.
  • Eagerness to learn and experiment with new technologies such as Microsoft Azure OpenAI and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Exposure to GitHub Actions, Helm charts, and Kubernetes is a plus but not required.

 Skills:

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team with individuals a all levels and from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a virtual work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with commitment to accuracy when producing deliverables.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. International students who are studying at an accredited U.S. college or university under F1 visas are eligible to apply under Curricular Practical Training (CPT) stipulations.

This position offers $25.00-$35.00 per hour. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the organization and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the salary for candidates that are based in the United States.
