Job Summary
The University of Kentucky (UK) seeks a Deputy CIO of Enterprise Applications & Outreach in UK Information Technology Services (ITS) to serve as a strategic leader advising on key IT initiatives. The incumbent will report directly to the UK Enterprise Chief Information Officer (ECIO) and be a member of the UK ITS executive team. The Deputy CIO will assist the UK ECIO with implementing a forward looking, mission-driven IT strategy along with a plan to execute it in an effective/efficient manner. Specific areas of technology responsibility include, but are not limited to, leadership of enterprise applications, leadership of customer services and IT service management, business processes, functional and development staff, outreach activities, and other key functions. The incumbent is expected to bring best practices as well as solutions and strategies to advance IT across the enterprise. In addition, the Deputy CIO will collaborate with key stakeholders and other members of the UK community to provide a robust and resilient IT strategy that will serve as a foundation to enhance and improve practices, processes, and other critical technology solutions.

Candidates must also bring experience in successfully working collaboratively across an organization with interdisciplinary teams to develop and obtain broad support for a shared vision and long-range plans.

Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s degree; ten (10) years of experience in a senior leadership role, including more than fifteen (15) years working in large, complex IT organizations. Certifications in applicable areas of technology.
