Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Defensive Coordinator, the primary responsibilities of this position include technical football analysis; strategic research and development; detailed game planning; and related activities. In addition, the position provides assistance with recruiting activities and other football program functions, as permitted by NCAA rules and policies governing non-coaching staff members. Must demonstrate integrity, leadership, a strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically qualified students. Encourage and promote excellence in academics, athletics, and life-skills to student athletes. Abide by all UNC, ACC, and NCAA regulations.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required (or foreign degree equivalent) with at least 1 year of experience in relevant independent instructional or educational activities; specific minimum experience is at the discretion of the Director of Athletics.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
1-3 years working in intercollegiate football environment required. Computer and video system literacy and expertise. Technical football knowledge. Strong organizational and motivational skills, and excellent oral and written skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prefer experience in video analysis breakdown and reporting for intercollegiate football, as well as experience working in an FBS intercollegiate office.
