This is an exceptional opportunity for a creative and collaborative leader to sharpen the vision of the College, while building on Drexel’s position as one of the nation’s leading private, comprehensive research universities with a historical commitment to impactful teaching, research, technological leadership, and community engagement. This is an open search; both internal and external candidates with demonstrated experience as scholars and administrators are welcome to apply.

About Drexel

Drexel’s historical foundation as an institution committed to solving problems in science, industry, business, and the arts, as well as its more recent expansion into the fields of medicine, public health, and law, has established the University as a global leader in research and experiential learning. Located in the heart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Drexel employs over 2,400 faculty members with about 24,000 students. The quality of the student experience is a central, defining value, as is its commitment to incorporating job experience into university education via its unique cooperative education program. Since its founding, Drexel has been committed to preparing its students for a rapidly changing workforce. Drexel is designated as an R1 Doctoral University in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education (one of only 39 private universities to earn the distinction). Drexel is consistently ranked among the top 100 national research universities in the United States by notable publications such as U. S. News and World Report, the Wall Street Journal, and Times Higher Education US College Rankings.

About Pennoni Honors College

One of the crown jewels of Drexel’s undergraduate academic programs is the Pennoni Honors College. The College admits the most motivated, curious, and highest-achieving students with majors from across Drexel University, and offers multidisciplinary, seminar-style courses, and a wide range of activities and programs, not only for the 10% of students admitted to the College, but for all Drexel students. Beyond individual courses and programs, Pennoni serves as a community hub and intellectual incubator for students and faculty interested in optimizing interdisciplinary teaching and learning. It also serves as an important convener for our students, faculty, professional staff, and our partners throughout the community.

Currently, the College encompasses four units that reflect an inclusive culture of unity and excellence. These include Undergraduate Research and Enrichment; Academic Programs; Marketing and Media; and the Center for Civil Discourse. Undergraduate Research and Enrichment includes the STAR program in which selected undergraduates conduct research with faculty during the summer after their first year; the SuperNova Program, where students continue research through to graduation; the Aspire Program to help selected sophomore students gain a better understanding of their goals; and assistance for students to apply for competitive fellowships in the US and abroad, as well as in their quest to continue on to graduate programs.  Each of these units contains robust programs, described on the Pennoni website. https://drexel.edu/pennoni/

The College is housed in a dedicated building on Drexel’s campus (Bentley Hall), with offices, seminar space, and lounge and collaboration space attached to the Honors residence Hall. This unique, welcoming setting allows for inclusive collaboration and community-building.
