Organizational Unit Overview | The College of Business consists of five departments (Accounting, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, and Marketing and Supply Chain Management) and two schools (School of Hospitality Leadership and the Miller School of Entrepreneurship). |
Job Duties | Reporting to the Provost, the dean is the Chief Academic and Administrative Officer of the College of Business. As such, the dean is the college’s advocate and is responsible for faculty, curriculum, budgets, and fund raising. The dean has final responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing all instruction, research, and service activities in the college. The dean also has fiscal responsibility for state budgets and private foundation accounts and ensures that academic programs comply with ECU and University of North Carolina system regulations, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accrediting bodies. Contingent upon availability of funds. |
Minimum Education/Experience | • An earned doctorate from an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited institution • Administrative experience in higher education at an AACSB accredited school • Experience with and commitment to AACSB accreditation • Exceptional credentials in teaching, scholarship/creative activities, and service sufficient for appointment as a tenured Full Professor • Five years of relevant experience |
