Data Control Specialist
Center for Sport
Location:  New Orleans, LA
Summary

Assists in the research and collection of data for the Center for Sport at Tulane University, including programming related to the Tulane NFL PCF Healthy Body and Mind Screening, the Trust Brain and Body / Milestone Wellness Assessment, and Veterans Brain Health Center at Tulane University Medical Center.

The Data Control Specialist position will carry out a series of procedures that have been chosen, deemed appropriate and vetted by the Center. The employee will be responsible for data entry and conduct data management by using available programs and provided procedures to maintain and manipulate information in the form of databases and conduct data analysis using the provided procedures and programs available from statistical software packages designed for research.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to conduct statistical analyses and effectively present scientific data

  • Good interpersonal (oral and written) skills

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented in order to ensure that all study procedures are completed according to the study protocol

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to travel minimum of 1 week a month

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year experience in management of databases with Microsoft Access or RedCap

  • Bachelor's  degree in Psychology, Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Public Health or related

  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, SAS, or STATA), as well as Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Experience with research (development of research questions and study design/protocol development) and conducting statistical analyses of clinical measures/biostatistics

  • Familiarity with drafting of tables and or figures for publication of research findings

Compensation Information
This position is classified as "non-exempt, hourly" and is assigned to pay grade 24.
