Job Summary
Join a dynamic team led by the Director of Digital Services and Analytics at the esteemed Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. As a vital member of our digital services and analytics team, you will collaborate with skilled professionals in enhancing the highly critical data analysis and reporting processes.
We are seeking a strong problem-solver with the ability to think critically, responsible for maintaining data compilation, screening, validation, and analysis using a variety of software programs. The Data Analyst will integrate data from multiple institutional and external sources to drive informed decision-making.
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Psychology, Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics or other related field
  • Three (3) or more years of experience maintaining data compilation, screening, validation and analysis utilizing a variety of software programs and integrating data from multiple institutional and external sources
  • One (1) year experience cleaning and analyzing survey data using statistical software (SAS, R, STATA, SPSS, or an equivalent) and working with online survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, RedCAP)
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Master’s in a related field is desirable.
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience cleaning and analyzing data using at least one statistical software (e.g. Python, R, STATA, SPSS, SAS, or an equivalent).
  • Experience working with online survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, RedCAP).
  • Proficiency in developing, writing and using SQL queries.
  • Proficiency in at least one data visualization software, such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Proficiency in using web analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • One year of experience working with educational/institutional data preferably in higher education.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities, tailored to thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, addressing and fixing data quality issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst at our institution, you will:
  • Collaborate closely with diverse departments to conceptualize, design, and create dynamic data reports and dashboards that meet their specific needs.
  • Work closely with software developers to diagnose and resolve error reports within our applications, conducting thorough research, development, and testing to deliver effective solutions.
  • Perform comprehensive usability and testing assessments to ensure that our reports and dashboards align with functional requirements and cater to the needs of our end-users.
  • Stay updated on emerging data reporting and dashboard trends, techniques, and technologies, providing informed recommendations for elevating our reporting designs.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, seamlessly integrating our web applications with other systems and platforms to ensure efficient data flow and interoperability.
  • Actively participate in mentoring program directors, academic support coordinators and other users, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the school’s reporting skills through in-house training initiatives.
  • Contribute your expertise to the team by performing additional duties as assigned, fostering a dynamic and collaborative work environment that drives innovation.

Remote Work Notice
A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly). Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
