JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Creates and maintains a data dictionary and meta data.
- Supports efforts to ensure that data standards are developed and maintained.
- Ensures that the uses of data through reports and queries are accurate.
- Supports business and system re-engineering and architecture development to define future data needs.
- Serves as an organizational consultant on matters relating to databases by providing expertise to assist users in meeting their needs.
- Performs other related duties as required.
ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
- The main job responsibilities for this position are cohort extraction and data cleaning. The data analyst will be assigned to multiple projects, in support of data analysis on a variety of databases (All-of-US, VA CDW, EPIC COSMOS).
- The data analyst will work under the supervision of Dr.Hui Shao. In addition, there are multiple outstanding faculties, postdoctoral associates, and research staff collaborators in the department and across the school. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work with collaborative international collaborators in global health. Dr. Shao’s team is looking for a highly motivated researcher with hard-core training in quantitative skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree and one year of experience in data analysis, statistics, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- The applicant must be proficient in R, C++, and VBA coding.
- The applicant must have experience working with electronic health records or other type of longitudinal data.
- The applicant must have experience developing web-based apps.
NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
