Summary of Position: The Mathematics Department, in collaboration with Faculty Center for Teaching & Learning (FCTL), is working on strategies to improve retention in lower division math courses through FCTL's Persistently Challenging Courses project. Part of this project involves retrieving student performance data that cannot be obtained through standard WebFocus reports. The successful candidate, under the supervision of the FCTL director and Mathematics Department Head, would retrieve this information for further analysis by the project team. This is a part time position at 10 to 20 hours per week.
The anticipated start date of this position is March 2024. However, this is an estimated date and can be revised if needed.
 
Position Type: Staff  
Required Education: BS in the mathematical sciences (Mathematics, Computer Science, or combination)  
Required Work Experience: Experience working with Excel. Experience working with students through tutoring and SLA.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Retrieve and enter student record information into Excel for further processing.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.

Special Instructions to Applicants: This is a part time data analyst position. The successful applicant will retrieve performance data (grades and courses), enter this information into Excel files, and organize the data to share with faculty team involved in improving retention in lower division math courses.
Unofficial Transcript 1 (REQUIRED): Applicants must attach a copy of unofficial transcript of Bachelor’s degree.
Transcript must include: Institution name, applicant name, date degree attained, degree awarded. Finalist will be required to submit an official transcript.
