The Data Analyst will support Program Assessment and Evaluation for MCEC across the system. The Data Analyst will work in close collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment (OIRA) at UMaine and at the system level to gather and analyze recruiting, admissions and enrollment data for use by MCEC leadership to maximize growth. The Data Analyst will also work in close collaboration with OIRA and the Office of Research Administration (ORA) to curate and constantly update data queries, repositories, and supporting documentation for internal and external reporting. The Data Analyst will report to the Dean of MCEC. Typical hiring range for this soft money funded position is $45,000 to $50,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) discipline, or in STEM education, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience;
- Fluency in software for data management, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets;
- Experience in working as a team;
- Experience in working collaboratively on shared documents and shared folders, including Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides;
- Experience constructing datasets from multiple sources;
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills;
- Excellent time management and organizational skills;
- Knowledge of R, SPSS, SAS, or other similar programming languages.
Preferred:
- Experience in program evaluation;
- Experience using data visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau);
- Experience using relational database query tools (e.g., PeopleSoft Query, SQL).
