Position Summary
The Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is seeking a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. with American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) certification in Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics (CCG) and/or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG) at the associate or full professor level. The Nebraska Medicine Human Genetics Laboratory is an integral part of the molecular genetics program within the department focused on conventional cytogenetics, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), chromosomal microarray (CMA), and potential optical genome mapping (OGM) analysis of hematologic malignancies and solid tumors, in addition to testing of genetic disorders. The successful candidate will have a strong record of accomplishment including scholarly activity and teaching in an academic environment. Support and opportunities exist for pursuit of research interests.
The Department of Pathology and Microbiology has over 70 faculty members working in modern, well-equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art facilities, including BSL3 and ABSL3 facilities.
