Job Summary
Performs
manual cleaning of the assigned building by the foreman. Uses proper methods and materials in cleaning
and care for the building area and equipment, participates in the care,
cleaning, and general housekeeping of the buildings that is assigned,
completing all task (football, baseball, work orders, etc.) assigned by the
foreman.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or 6 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures, professional standards and regulations.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, and the use of custodial materials, tools, equipment, and chemicals.
- Skill in managing ones’ own time while completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to listen to, understand, and follow instructions.
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure and the ability to react and respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision.
- Ability to operate personal computer with a general understanding of application software, and an understanding of the internet.
- Ability to obtain a driver’s license prior to employment.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
