Custodial Worker 1

Clarion University seeks qualified applicants for various 15 hour per week custodial worker positions. Work involves the use of custodial supplies and modern cleaning equipment. Employees will be required to:

Wash, wax, dust and polish floors, furniture and fixtures; clean lavatories and replace lavatory supplies; dispose of waste paper.

Shovel snow, sweep and clean walks and assist in keeping immediate outside premises and building entrances in an orderly condition.

Replace light bulbs and make simple repairs to equipment; report needed repairs to crew leader or supervisor.

Shifts available will be communicated to applicants at the time they are contacted for a possible interview.

Ability to learn the materials, methods and practices used in custodial work.

Ability to learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines and other janitorial equipment.

Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions.

Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials for different types of building surfaces.

Ability to work effectively with others.

Sufficient physical strength to work as custodial tasks (must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds).

Completion of a successful on campus interview.

This posting is a pool posting and will be used through June 2020 to fill all part time regular status custodial worker positions.

Applicants must complete a successful on campus interview. Prior to employment the successful candidate will be required to obtain and submit current clearances from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI.
