Job Description | The Raclin Murphy Museum of Art strives to create positions for students to work closely with a specific Museum department while allowing moments for broad learning of museum practice. Under the supervision of the Curator of European and American Art before 1900, the Research Assistant will learn the basics of cataloging, documenting, describing, recording, and limited art handling of art objects. Projects can be tailored to the student’s interests. The current project includes research of British, French, and Italian paintings of the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The student’s work will be added to the Museum’s collection management database (Embark) and used to produce curatorial reports for future acquisitions meetings. Responsibilities:
