Job Summary
This position will be responsible for designing, performing, and validating soybean transformation experiments with the aim of consistently improving transformation and regeneration efficiencies. Additionally, the role includes training colleagues and collaborating closely with the transformation pipeline manager and other team members to implement enhanced protocols. Overall, the position requires providing broad support and expertise to the team, ensuring an effective transformation workflow to meet service request deadlines.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, perform and analyze transformation experiments to increase plant transformation efficiency. This includes searching for relevant literature and applying modern methods of crop transformation.
• Preparation and maintenance of media/buffers/reagents/stock solutions
• Training & support of the transformation pipeline
• Lab documentation, updating relevant databases, progress reports, presentation of results

Additional Physical Demands
Environmental Demands: Willingness to perform routine repetitive tasks in a laboratory with non-hazardous materials
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Biology or related discipline Experience: Experience in aseptic technique, microbial cell culture, plant transformation and tissue culture
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master's degree in Biology or related discipline
Experience: Years of experience in plant transformation and tissue culture
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Required: Knowledge of crop transformation methods and relevant literature, lab documentation, excellent organizational skills, track record of accuracy and repeatability in the application of laboratory protocols, excellent communication skills, and ability to implement published methods effectively
• Preferred: Knowledge of various crop transformation methods, knowledge of soybean transformation methods in particular and most recent literature on relevant methods

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close date. The minimum salary for this position is $52,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
