Position Description:
One Postdoctoral position is available at Neuro-Oncology Branch, National Cancer Institute. My laboratory is focused on understanding the metabolic changes in brain tumors with an IDH1 mutation, and on exploiting these deregulations for therapeutic applications. We employ a combination of methods such as molecular biology, animal models, as well as in vitro and in vivo metabolomics using Raman Imaging Microscopy, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy (NMR), Mass Spectrometry (MS) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques.
One Postdoctoral position is available for the molecular biology and part of the lab which includes expertise in CRISPR/Cas9, Western Blotting, mammalian cell culture and other common biomedical techniques used in cancer biology labs such as handling tissue samples, preparing tissue slides, staining, extraction of proteins from brain tissue and animal experiments.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Cary CRISPR/Cas9, Western Blotting, RT-PCR, mammalian cell culture, tissue handling, staining and animal experiments
- Write manuscripts
- Present data at meetings and conferences
- Collaborate with other team members to finish projects
Qualifications:
Successful candidates should have:
- Experience in handling cell culture, genetic manipulation of cell lines and characterization via sequencing, western blot and metabolic analysis.
- Experience in manipulating human cell lines such as neurospheres, different tissue, blood and urine samples,
- Be highly independent in designing the experiments, analyzing the data and presenting the results.
- Manuscript writing skills
- Applicants should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., relevant experience highlighted above, and less than 3 years of postdoctoral experience.
To Apply:
Neuro-Oncology Branch, National Cancer Institute, NIH, Bethesda, Maryland
This post will be available until January 16, 2022 or until filled.
The NIH is dedicated to building a diverse community in its training and employment programs.
