Position Summary:       

The Course Development Manager is a key component of the course development pipeline at YU Global.  The role is responsible for overseeing the entire process of online course development and advancing the online educational programs and initiatives related to workforce development within YU Global. While this role is very much oriented to technical work, it also relies heavily on innovation, out-of-the-box solutions, and creative problem-solving to advance our course development process. This role requires an understanding of project management, educational strategies, and a passion for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Position Responsibilities:

  • New Course Development : Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in workforce development education. Utilize Lightcast and other workforce research tools to identify potential courses and bring them to the team for evaluation and potential development.  Work with course developers and SMEs to develop new curricula and review current offerings, ensuring that both are relevant, comprehensive, and aligned with industry trends/standards.
  • Staffing : Recruit, hire, and evaluate subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and course facilitators. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to each one through the development and course delivery process.
  • Course Construction : Utilize AI tools to generate detailed outlines and course content, to be reviewed by a Subject Matter Expert (SME). 
  • Course Development Process Management : Oversee the development of courses from concept to final design, including contracting SMEs, assigning instructional designers, establishing deliverable timelines, quality assurance (QA) reviews, hiring course facilitators, maintaining up-to-date project boards, and escalating production obstacles as appropriate.
  • Quality Assurance : Establish integrated processes and standards for review of all programs at different stages of development and implementation of feedback, to assure top-quality program outputs and continuous improvement.
  • Course Facilitator : Serve as course facilitator for a limited number of courses at any given time, where skill-sets and experience align with course needs.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, education, or a related field.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; experience with project/program management preferred.
  • Strong managerial skills, with the ability to maximize productivity from contractors and vendors.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with educational technologies, including learning management systems (LMS) and instructional design platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong collaborative work ethic.

Salary Range:

$75,000 - $80,000
