Are you passionate about intellectual property rights and fair use practices in the digital age? Do you have experience in providing guidance and support to researchers, faculty, and students on copyright issues? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the Copyright/Fair Use Librarian position at Texas A&M University Libraries.

The Copyright/Fair Use Librarian will coordinate the development and implementation of copyright education programs and best practices for faculty, staff, and students. If selected, you will provide expertise to users on author rights, copyright laws, fair use, and open access resources. The Copyright/Fair Use Librarian will also coordinate change management and informational sessions on open access, open educational, and scholarly communication issues. Opportunities to Contribute

  • Collaborate with Research Librarians on promoting and supporting the Texas A&M Digital Repository and publishing platforms supported by the University Libraries

  • Participate in departmental and interdepartmental meetings and activities as a member of the Scholarly Communications and Data Services unit

  • Participate in scholarly activities and professional service for professional development and to incorporate new ideas and technologies into library services and programs

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Library Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Five years of related experience in a public, academic, or specialized library or archive

A well-qualified candidate for these positions will also possess:

  • Knowledge of academic library functions and open access materials

  • Education or experience in working with copyright and fair use related issues

  • Ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and take initiative

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of customers and employees

  • Conflict resolution skills

  • Capability to manage, plan, and organize overall unit and operations

  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service

  • Juris Doctorate (JD)

Minimum Starting Salary: $72,335 annually
