Job Description

The College of Engineering Dean’s Office at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a Coordinator, Research Grants. This position will provide consultation to leadership regarding the development of long-and short-range goals and objectives and represent the College on various research committees and developing cooperative working relationships with other University units outside of the College. This position is integral to the research mission of the University of Nevada, Reno, and College of Engineering, in analyzing and administering research development and project management, proposal review and processing, statistical communication, and training.

The Coordinator, Research Grants will guide the development and submission of targeted research initiatives by the communication and managing outcomes that involve faculty collaboration in and outside of the College. This position will assist the Dean of the College of Engineering in creating and executing strategic plans for research development, through coordination of logistics, communication, data analysis, and assessment. This position will direct grant processes within the College in collaboration with research faculty and staff.  Responsibilities include proposal development, assessment, monitoring, and compliance to secure research funding, as well as the processing of non-competing continuations, supplements, and subcontract documents for OSP review. This position will research and recruit potential funding opportunities from federal, state, and private sponsors for faculty consideration, recommendation, and implementation of long-range strategy, plans and projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.  This position develops and maintains a dedicated webpage for faculty and staff to access necessary resources for proposal development and submission and provides related guidance to faculty members. As a subject matter expert on grant procedures, sponsor requirements, and compliance regulations in areas of research administration, this position provides faculty and staff trainings in multiple formats to help enhance and streamline the submission process. The Coordinator, Research Grants reports directly to the Associate Dean of the College of Engineering.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of related experience OR

Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related experience

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
