The mission of The University of Texas M. D. SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Coordinator, Research Data position is to Coordinate the development of and provide administrative and research support to CRC MRD trials and the INTERCEPT Program. Functions in the development and maintenance of record keeping systems for organizing paper flow and dissemination of resulting data. Responsible for the abstraction of data from electronic health record, spreadsheets, charts, treatment records and external records for pharmaceutical companies, federal agencies, internal groups, and other institutions. Receives and collects biospecimens and updates appropriate tracking systems and personnel. Serves as liaison amongst stakeholders to patients and collaborators and promotes programmatic initiatives.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Clinical Trial Support 50%

1. Reads and becomes familiar with programmatic and trial specific guidelines; including patient eligibility and sample collection time points.

2. Reviews patient medical records to prescreen for CRC MRD trials and creates and maintains lists of eligible patients and necessary sample collections according to protocol. A basic knowledge of medical terminology is required. May require use of electronic calendars and/or manual calendars.

3. Consents patients as needed.

4. Assists in the design/workflow and implementation of research projects and/or clinical trials as they are established and initiated.

Data and Biospecimen Collection Coordination 25%

5. Responsible for coordinating, ordering, and collecting patient data and biospecimens. Pends orders for coordinating care teams and follows up on their completion. Maintains biospecimen order and collection logs and documents activities in medical records, electronic forms, and databases.

6. Coordinates requests for patient health records and materials from outside institutions.

7. May create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and team workflow materials.

8. Aligns multi-disciplinary team by means of timely communication and follow up and appropriately addressing queries.

Data Review and Reporting 15%

9. Responsible for maintaining an accurate database. Performs quality assurance (QA) reviews and coordinates resolutions as directed. Follows and complies with institutional, state, and/or federal regulations for study initiation, conduct and termination.

10. Gathers pertinent information by visually reviewing various files and paperwork for use in the preparation of scientific / clinical / research reports, grants, protocol, speeches, abstracts, and manuscripts.

11. Provides ad hoc reporting and compiles data as needed/requested.

EDUCATION

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or in an appropriate scientific or administrative area

EXPERIENCE

Required: Two years of related experience. With preferred degree, no experience required.
