Coordinator, Orientation and New Student Programs
Description
The Coordinator of Orientation and New Student Programs (ONSP) role is to support the development, and execution of comprehensive orientation and new student programs to enhance the transition and retention of new students. This includes managing the recruitment, training, and supervision of student leaders, assessing program effectiveness, and collaborating with the Assistant Director on various orientation events, including those for specific student populations and family members.
Duties:
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director in developing and implementing all orientation programs, including freshman student orientation, transfer student orientation, graduate student orientation, international student orientation, and online orientation through collaboration with staff, faculty, and campus partners.
- Responsible for, with the support of the Assistant Director, the development and implementation of all new student program initiatives, encompassing extended orientation programs, family and guest experiences, first-year and second-year experiences, and population-specific new student support initiatives.
- Responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and ongoing development of office student leaders, including orientation leaders, office staff, and any additional undergraduate or graduate student staff.
- Contribute to managing campus partner and community engagement efforts, enhancing the success of campus-wide initiatives and departmental programs supporting student success and retention.
- Provide support for developing and implementing family and guest orientation program experiences, along with ongoing support resources.
- Support the assessment of programs and initiatives, reporting findings to the Assistant Director. Ensure program learning outcomes align with the office mission, division of student affairs goals, and university priorities. Performs related duties as assigned.

Master's degree in Student Affairs/Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Education, or related field.
Experience working with, developing or delivering orientation, transition or retention programs in a college or university setting. This can include work with student events, student groups or student activities.
