Job Summary
The Coordinator of Student Development and Outreach for Intercultural Student Engagement Center will advise organizations supported by the office. The coordinator will lead and coordinate community outreach projects and social change initiatives, as well as collaborate with student organizations and community partners for mentorship and heritage month programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage peer-to-peer mentorship program for first year students, as well as Alumni- Student mentor program to support sense of belonging, leadership, and professional development.
  • Campus and community outreach to Arlington organizations and UTA Alumni for student mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Advise student organizations supported by the office.
  • Provide mentorship and support to enhance organizations’ success.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate leadership training and workshops for student organizations, executive boards and members.
  • Supervise graduate and student assistants.
  • Responsible for assisting the selection, training, and ongoing development of student assistants.
  • Serve as a member of various departmental and campus committees including the Maverick Monarch Council focused on supporting students of various immigration statuses.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to coordinate heritage month celebrations, leadership retreat, professional development workshops, etc., including but not limited to overseeing speaker contracts, sponsorships, presenters and marketing.
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus and community partners related to program development.
  • Represent the Intercultural Student Engagement Center on various campus and community projects and committees.
  • Manage the budget for programs and services related to supervised programs.
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of Intercultural Student Engagement Center and manage other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and/or relevant experience.
  • Licenses: Class ‘C’ Operator’s Driver’s License.
  • The applicant selected must provide a current three (3) year Driving Record from the current state of residence.
  • If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver’s License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree and direct experience with participation in or advising culturally based student organizations.
  • Leadership development experience and understanding of event planning processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to utilize independent thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working with a variety population.
