Job Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating the college’s Industrial Process Operator and Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Programs.
Essential Responsibilities
· Directs and organizes systematic curriculum and program assessment and evaluation activities according to accreditation and college standards; initiates changes, additions or deletions as needed.


· Prepares and teaches courses; prepares syllabus; delivers lectures, assignments and tests; evaluates and records student performance; counsels, tutors, and mentors students.
· Develops and implements credit and non-credit in-person, online classes as well as dual credit classes.
· Advises prospective students.
· Creates new and updated technical training courses for the energy industry; designs, develops, implements and evaluates technical training.
· Actively collaborates and coordinates grant activities in this and related fields of study.
· Travels to industry locations to develop site specific training.
· Recruits, hires, and trains program faculty.
· Manages the program budget; approves expenditures.
· Develops and implements program class schedules.
· Promotes the program and participates in the recruitment of students; participates in recruitment events; distributes program flyers and information sheets.
· Participates in industry groups.
· Organizes and participates in the PTEC Advisory Committee.
· Coordinates program accreditation functions.
· Resolves staff and student complaints and problems.
· Performs related duties.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
  • Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with eight to ten years of experience or service.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of New Mexico for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
