The Coordinator directs the Katherine Miles Durst Child Development Learning Center (CDLC) and instructs students in developmentally apropriate practices for teaching young children. The CDLC serves internal UMaine constituents (students from multiple degree programs and other faculty who do research using this facility) and external constituents (children and families in the community). Typical hiring range for this 10-month work year, mid-August through mid-June position is $56,000 to $65,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required:

Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field is required.

Additional requirements include:


  • 1-3 years of teaching experience in early childhood settings;
  • Familiarity with developmentally appropriate practice;
  • Written and interpersonal communication skills with children, staff, and parents;

Preferred:


  • Experience supervising staff in an early childhood setting.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation in an early childhood setting preferred.
  • Experience with college teaching is also preferred.
