Contracts Paralegal - Perdoceo Education Corporation

Under the general direction of in-house counsel, the Contracts Paralegal is responsible for the creation, review, and execution of a wide variety of contracts covering a range of transactions and services. In this role, the Contracts Paralegal is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulatory and compliance requirements, and Company policies and procedures surrounding contracts/agreements.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and redline a wide variety of contracts and other legal documents (Ex. MSA, NDA, Independent Contractor, Marketing Services, Technology Services, SaaS, HR, Real Estate, etc.).
  • Maintain effective and supportive communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding contract reviews. Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams, including Procurement, IT, Finance, HR, Regulatory and Compliance.
  • Research and resolve contract related issues, escalations, and inquiries.
  • Assist with the creation, revision and modification of contract templates and submission procedures related to changes in law, regulations, and Company policies.
  • Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress using Company’s contract management systems and Company’s contract management procedures.

  • Effective verbal and written communication with strong attention to detail and accuracy while working in a busy and changing work environment.
  • Experience in reviewing a wide variety of complex legal documents, specifically contracts/agreements.
  • Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills with the ability to effectively summarize and communicate complex legal concepts.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interest and desire to learn new areas of law and regulations.
  • Practice diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.

Education and Experience:  Minimum

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent)
  • Paralegal Certification
  • 3+ years’ experience in reviewing, drafting, revising, and redlining contracts

Education and Experience:  Preferred

  • Prior in-house legal department experience
  • Prior experience in a highly regulated industry
