The University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is a nationally renowned leader in the field of health care education, research, and clinical practice preparation. SHRS has 13 different disciplines related to health and rehabilitative care.

The Rehabilitation Science and Technology Continuing Education program is seeking a Continuing Education Communications Coordinator to provide coordination of online offerings and activities, including in-person and online marketing, dissemination, event planning as well as to assist the CE director with redesign of the advisory board, expansion of CE activities to include community and consumer participation, and develop strategic partnerships with professional organizations.

This position develops web and print marketing materials for continuing education (CE) activities and the International Seating Symposium (ISS). Develops and implements strategies to promote engagement and patronage of target audience(s). Manages relationships with third parties for collaborations on CE and ISS projects including advisory boards, external contractors, presenters, AT consumers, and other stakeholders.



Job Summary

Develops moderately complex web and print content and marketing. Acts as strategic contributor for communications team and creates diverse marketing materials for marketing team. Attends meetings designed for content planning and development. Ensures consistent messaging and maintains University brand and style.


Essential Functions 

• Develops web and print marketing materials for continuing education (CE) activities and the International Seating Symposium (ISS), including, but not limited to, writing, editing, disseminating communications with stakeholders. These may include web graphics, social media, signs and banners, emails, reports, templates, and other print and communications collateral.

• Manages CE and ISS communication platforms, including, but not limited to, all CE and ISS social media accounts, email services, website, learning management system (LMS) courses, and course and event apps.

• Develops and implements strategies for the distribution of content to promote engagement of target audience(s), such as social media strategies, email outreach campaigns, and conference marketing projects.

• Oversees communication with CE and ISS attendees/participants.

• Coordinates program logistics, including creation and distribution of program materials, tracking participant status, securing appropriate technology/equipment/facilities, determining/scheduling/contacting appropriate lecturers, and contacting and enrolling program participants.

• Works collaboratively and effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs), creative teams, and University departments. Modifies messaging according to the target audience, communication goals, and communication channels employed. 


Physical Effort 

Position is sedentary; must be able to sit up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to reach and bend for office supplies, lift up to 25 pounds.
