Job Description:

The Content Marketing Specialist will join the CCO team, reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing. This role supports a holistic communications strategy to support marketing and enrollment goals, and is responsible for crafting compelling content to enhance our brand, improve awareness of our online academic programs, drive lead generation, increase enrollments, and engage with our enrolled students. This role involves creating and optimizing various types of content, including automated email communications, white papers, blog posts, advertisements, and videos. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who can successfully convey the life-changing power of higher education in a way that resonates with a diverse audience.

Responsibilities include

  • Create and optimize content for various channels, including blog content, print materials (PDFs), social media, web pages, and email campaigns.
  • Maintain, update and report on the Champlain College Online blog, ensuring its continued success through optimization and performance tracking.
  • Utilize SEO techniques to enhance content visibility and drive organic traffic.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and branding.
  • Stay informed about current digital marketing trends and incorporate best practices into content strategies.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results within established timelines.


Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience producing content for a range of audiences at different stages in the buying journey
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in digital marketing
  • Strong organizational skills, proven ability to handle multiple projects and deliver results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A minimum of 3 years of copywriting experience and well-developed writing and journalistic skills that elicit emotion and inspire action
  • Demonstrated proficiency in planning, writing, and editing with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Experience working in content management systems, such as Drupal, Wordpress or Airtable 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in graphic design and video editing
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with SEO
  • Knowledge of CRMs
  • Remote within the United States

Preferred

  • Experience working in a remote team setting
  • Prior experience in higher education
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics 4
