Advertising/Posting Title Conference Assistant

Posting Summary
Prepare conference materials, including but not limited to: brochure/postcard copy revisions, faculty and participant correspondence. Make hotel and travel arrangements for conference faculty as appropriate. Create, receive, and review registrations and other materials related to conference participants. Compile syllabus materials. Create database and forms for generating name tags and lists of attendees (for final lists and CMIE tracking system). Maintain timeline calendar ensuring that critical deadlines are met throughout the conference planning process.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associate’s degree and one to three years related administrative support experience required. Effective verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and a proven history exhibiting attention to detail required. Proficiency with spreadsheet, database and word processing applications required.
Desirable Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access, and Excel highly desirable. Ability to word process at speed of 40 wpm required.
Anticipated Pay Range
Other Information
Anticipated pay range $22.00 to $24.00/hour. Actual hiring pay dependent on comparable campus peer(s) at time of hire, and candidate’s experience level and length.
Special Conditions Bargaining unit position, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Background Check required for this position

Union Position Yes, UVMSU ($20 minimum hourly rate)
