Through collaborative partnerships, tailored programing, and enriching opportunities, CCP strives to cultivate equitable and sustainable support services for students who are historically underrepresented and underserved navigating the many stages of transfer.
 
As a seasoned, experienced professional in K-14 academic preparation, the Community College Programs Specialist will assist in the design, coordination and implementation of the Community College Programs (CCP). Primary responsibilities will include working with community college students and district personnel to promote academic success and achievement at community colleges in Orange County or Los Angeles counties. Develops and maintains CCP visibility and maintains collaborative relationships with OC and LA community colleges. Oversees the following areas of CCP: transfer preparation counseling, special events (TAG Day, App Day, campus visits), and residential programs (3-day and 7-day Summer Scholars Transfer Institute).

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $56,200.00 - $63,000.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $56,200.00 - $96,800.00 (Annual Salary).

Required:
 
  • Three years of experience.
  • Master’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training or a combination of education and/or experience working with Community Colleges.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with educational equity programs serving a diverse student population. Strong knowledge of up-to-date information on K-12 and higher education policies and issues. Ability to assess their impact on program strategies. 
  • Knowledge of K-12 and higher education institutions (UC, CSU, CC, etc.), admissions and financial aid requirements, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures to youth, parents, and school representatives. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school district administrators, school counselors, principals, teachers, and community college faculty and staff. 
  • Strong knowledge of high school graduation and college entrance requirements. 
  • Demonstrated cultural competency with respect to race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. 
  • Strong communications (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. 
  • Significant experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers. 
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with computer applications, such as Microsoft Office, data management systems, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Internet, email, etc.

 
Preferred:
 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
