Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This position will include responsibility for tasks associated with communications for the department:
  • Serve as the Communications Specialist for University Human Resources, responsibilities include focusing on creating content for several communications (newsletters, ppt, memos, email communications).
  • Create communication plans and strategies for various programs, projects, and initiatives to support human resources across the University community. Work closely with leadership to ensure alignment in messaging and goals.
  • The selected candidate will have the opportunity to support all facets of creating communication content, utilizing digital marketing tools and techniques, enhancing UHR and University of Maryland College Park branding, planning events, and representing UHR on various committees.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelors Degree.

Experience:
  • 2 years of professional communication experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent Customer Service skills, project management, and effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat).
