Job Summary
The College of Architecture, Design and Construction (CADC) seeks applicants for a full-time Communications Designer/Digital Content Specialist in our Office of Communications and Marketing. This position will report to the CADC Communications Manager and work closely with all CADC units to ensure the effective conceptualization, design and dissemination of visual and digital content that aligns with the college’s priorities and enhances its communications strategy.
About the CADC: The CADC is comprised of three schools: the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture; the McWhorter School of Building Science; and the School of Industrial Graphic Design. These academic units offer undergraduate and graduate degree programs that are consistently recognized nationally and internationally for their academic excellence and innovation in the fields of architecture, design and construction, and related education. Essential Functions
1. Conceptualizes and implements designs for print and digital mediums to support CADC priorities under direction of CADC Communications Manager. Provides original creative ideas and artwork to support project requests.
2. Advises and consults with CADC stakeholders and external entities concerning design projects and expected deliverables.
3. Coordinates CADC Communications project calendar, production schedule and deadlines in collaboration with CADC Communications Manager.
4. Curates, composes and disseminates digital content for CADC website, newsletters and publications in coordination with CADC Communications Manager.
5. Interfaces with AU Office of Communications and Marketing, AU Office of Trademark Management and Licensing and vendors to support production process.
6. Maintains files, databases and electronic records of materials.
7. Manages inventory to include ordering supplies.
8. Maintains graphic equipment and printers.
9. May supervise others in the production and coordination of deliverables.

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing or related field.
Typical salaries are between $48,533 and $55,467

Minimum Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of design and digital content (web-based and other)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively and manage multiple priorities
Minimum Technology Skills
  • Adobe Creative Suite (including but not limited to InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and AfterEffects)
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to Outlook Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Knowledge of database and web content management
