Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Center for Environmental Energy Engineering seeks (CEEE) to hire a Communications Coordinator. The Coordinator will assist with communications strategies, tactics and deliverables to include:
  • Researching, writing and editing newsletter stories, annual report, press releases
  • Uploading content to Clark School news engine
  • Updating Center’s website and other web pages
  • Taking and organizing photographs
  • Managing center’s social media accounts
  • Assisting with event/conference planning and execution
  • Other duties as assigned.

Under direction of the Center Director, Co-directors, and Program Manager, duties will be prioritized to best suit the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications or related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in communications, journalism, marketing, and/or website development or related field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • AP Style Guide
  • Ability to learn about engineering concepts and convey research and news information to a variety of audiences (technical and non-technical).
  • Newsletter creation (content planning through execution), email marketing strategy, social media analytics.
  • Front end website design and website content management systems.
  • Basic skills in photography and videography.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on several projects simultaneously and coordinate with students and faculty.
  • Familiarity with communication strategies in a diverse environment – non-native speakers, literacy levels, familiarity level with technology, for example.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Preferences:
Preferences:
  • Knowledge of Drupal website content management interface, website copywriting, Adobe design products, Microsoft Office Suite, Constant Contact email system, ConfTools conference management system, and Smartsheet project management platform.
  • Good editorial, organization, leadership skills
  • Experience dealing with the media, and publishing production.
  • Event planning and execution experience, including knowledge of catering, meeting spaces, and coordinating with event staff and guests.
