Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
 

Reporting to the Director of Pathway Programs & Recruitment, the Recruitment Coordinator will serve as one of the initial points of contact for collegiate pre-health advisors and students interested in the Frist College of Medicine and will support a recruitment process designed to cultivate a robust, diverse, qualified applicant pool in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine.

Coordination of Pathway Programs

In collaboration with the Director of Pathway Programs and Recruitment, responsibilities include:
Promoting pathway programs and engaging prospective pathway participants;

Communicating with prospective pathway applicants;

Maintaining Slate for prospective pathway program participants;

Developing and implementing the pathway program schedule of co-curricular and community building programming and events.

This includes promoting relevant health sciences student events including those offered by offices like Student Success and

Flourishing, the Office of Hope, Unity, and Belonging, and Belmont University Pre-Health Advising.
Student Recruitment
In collaboration with the Director of Pathway Programs and Student Recruitment, will also engage in recruitment strategies to recruit applicants to the Thomas F. Frist. Jr. College of Medicine.
Developing productive relationships with health professions advisors at universities, community colleges, and other relevant entities and regularly visit these institutions to participate in career fairs, community and recruitment events;

Preparing and delivering recruitment presentations to large and small groups; providing information and developing a schedule of events promoting the Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine to facilitate recruitment nationally;

Maintaining a working knowledge of program requirements, developing expertise that allows for prompt, accurate, and comprehensive responses to questions from prospective students and partners;

Meeting with prospective students to provide guidance, admissions and program information and requirements;

Scheduling student visits, open houses and tours of the Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine;

Maintaining a database of prospective students and contacts and manage these contacts up to the admissions funnel;

Evaluating recruitment efforts for effectiveness.

  • Superior customer service and communication skills to effectively work in a team environment and to communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of higher education recruitment or admissions.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn and utilize the customer relationship management (CRM) system, Slate.
  • Knowledge about Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Knowledge of event planning.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Computer skills: MS Word, Excel and/or database management skills to efficiently enter data, create reports, letters, and other correspondence.
  • Must possess a current valid driver’s license.
   
Required Education Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  
Required Experience Two or more years of experience in a higher education or admissions setting is preferred. Experience in a graduate health professions environment is preferred.
  
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Previous experience working at a college or university is required; recruitment, admissions, or marketing experience is preferred.
