Position Description and Responsibilities

Cost Center Management (CCM) & Budget Reporting – 50% of Time

  • Manage cost centers including IDRO and central College of Design units; approve transactions ensuring compliance.

  • Plan, analyze, and prepare budget activities and reports.

  • Advise on budget options.

  • Provide high-level analysis for IDRO and central unit leadership.

  • Manage fee-for-service structure and prepare reports for revenue and budget monitoring.

Grant Management and Other Duties as Assigned – 50% of Time

  • Manage grant activities including familiarizing with funded awards and budgets.

  • Coordinate post-award activities for grants and contracts.

  • Resolve issues with contracts and budgets, establish and monitor accounts, and make expenditure changes.

  • Review sponsored program awards, communicate terms, provide financial reports, and ensure compliance.

  • Submit Faculty summer salary requests from award-funded grants and support Principal Investigators in project implementation by providing analytical support.

  • Assist with hiring process of undergraduate and graduate research assistants.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

Level Guidelines
• Intermediate-level position with solid professional and/or technical skills working under general supervision to achieve goals
• Applies broad, working knowledge of the principles of the field to moderately complex, difficult, and varied problems and issues
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and resolve problems
• Responds to a broad range of inquiries and requests
• May provide training and/or direction to lower-level staff
• May lead projects of moderate scope and complexity
• Provides guidance to students
