Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Family & Community Medicine Chair Office, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.

The Clinical Research Coordinator I role assists with identifying, screening, and calling potential study participants through various recruiting methods. Educates participants about the study and follows proper procedures to consent patients to the study, per protocol. Coordinates and organizes participant's study-related visits, in-person and remote. Mails letters, surveys, and questionnaires to patients and completes surveys via phone when needed. Prepares for study, monitoring visits, and assists with correcting findings. Assists with fieldwork as needed by the principal investigator or other faculty.

General Responsibilities

  • To collect and record preliminary data for clinical research programs.

  • To recruit and perform follow-up with research participants as protocols outline.

  • To schedule visits according to research protocols.

  • To assist in coordination of lab and fieldwork.

  • To maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists with study recruitment including screening and consenting patients to assigned studies.

  • Assists with in-person or virtual study visits.

  • Assists with retention including scheduling and performing follow-up with research participants as protocols dictate.

  • Collects, records and analyzes preliminary data for assigned studies.

  • Assists with study database development and management using REDCap.

  • May perform data analysis using a variety of software packages and statistical methods.

  • May handle database management and assist with data collection activities to ensure data integrity and compliance with protocols.

  • May assist in compiling, editing, and proofing reports, manuscripts, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manuals.

  • May be asked to prepare and write research summaries as assigned.

  • Assists with qualitative interviews.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Annual Salary Range: $41,175 - $66,915
