The Department of Neurology at the Dell Medical School is looking for a Clinical Research Associate II.


One-year fixed term with possibility of continuation based on performance and available grant fundingThis position is fully on-site. 


Purpose


The Department of Neurology is looking for a Clinical Research Associate II to assist Dr. Freeman (Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Center) to conduct funded clinical research studies. This position involves a significant amount of patient-facing time for study participant recruitment and conduction of research visits. This position also involves administrative tasks, working with the PI, department, sponsors, and institution to support the compliance, financial, personnel and other related aspects of the clinical studies. This position is fully on-site.  


Responsibilities


  • Assist PIs to develop study protocols and procedure manuals.

  • Facilitate institutional review board (IRB) applications, submissions, and updates across multiple sites.

  • Ensure completion of contract requirements and project specifications. 

  • Assist PI with collaborative preparation and submission of project relevant budgets, financial reports, and agreements. 

  • Recruit potential research subjects, complete screening and informed consent processes and data collection procedures.  

  • Monitor recruitment at all study sites and adherence to procedures/protocols to ensure optimal subject participation rates and accurate data collection and reporting. 

  • Develop and maintain timelines in coordination with PIs.  

  • Collaborate with PIs and project investigators to prepare methodological notes, reports, presentations and other dissemination activities related to the project activities.

  • Manage assigned projects with an emphasis on coordination and communication with research sponsors, investigators and research team members. 

  • Assist in training project staff and research assistants who may be helping with data collection.

  • Help to facilitate project collaborations and team work.  

  • Other related functions as assigned.



Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, psychology, or related field and 2 years of associated research experience or Master’s degree and no experience. A successful candidate will have the ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable and professional manner on the phone and in person; demonstrate use of good written and verbal communication skills possess effective project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines; possess great attention to detail and effective follow-through; have initiative to complete tasks before being asked and be able to independently manage studies, as well as have ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various delicate, formal or urgent situations; be flexible and adaptable to change. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.



Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with research subject recruitment and data management in clinical health research. Experience with adults with physical or cognitive disability. Spanish speaker. 


Salary Range

$45,000+ depending on qualifications


Working Conditions
