Clinical Research Assistant I

Position Description:

Purpose

Under direct supervision, perform various duties in support of clinical research studies in the Department of Neurosurgery.

Primary Functions

  • Review patient medical records to extract relevant clinical data for the research.
  • Enter research data onto clinical research forms and into computerized database.
  • Assist in data cleaning and quality assurance activities, including reviewing assessments conducted for clinical research purposes.
  • Assist in literature review.
  • Assist in data analysis and interpretation related to ongoing research projects.
  • Provide general clerical support to investigators, including maintaining study documentation and organizing and filing documents.
  • Attend study team meetings and complete study related training, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Strong problem solving and attentiveness to detail required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of computers, clerical procedures, customer service standards, and information management.
