The College of Nursing invites candidates to apply for the Clinical Placement Coordinator position to provide Nursing students with top level clinical placement opportunities. You will provide guidance, advice, and support to students and faculty in all matters regarding clinical placements. You will also serve as a primary contact for clinical affiliation agreements and facilitating onboarding with both the clinical site and the College of Nursing.
Summary of Duties
The Clinical Placement Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development and evaluation of clinical sites and arranging clinical experiences for graduate nursing programs, including the Doctorate of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner tracks as well as Masters program.
The Clinical Placement Coordinator is the primary contact for clinical placements and serves as the liaison between healthcare agencies, students, faculty, and staff. This position is responsible for complex communication and problem solving to maintain positive working relationships and operates from a solid understanding of nursing education and practice. The purpose of this position is to facilitate a positive clinical learning experience for WSU College of Nursing students in Vancouver nursing programs.
This position will monitor affiliation agreements between WSU and clinical agencies to ensure there is an active agreement wherever students are placed. The Clinical Coordinator ensures compliance with all onboarding documents for both the clinical faculty and nursing students. The coordinator provides proactive outreach to established clinical partners and new clinical partners to secure placement opportunities for our students.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Ability to use and learn multiple software programs and online systems.
Ability to maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and/or using electronic record and information management systems.
  • Professional experience in clinical nursing education, staff development, or clinical placement.
  • Experience working with a formalized network of schools of nursing and clinical agencies for student clinical placement.
  • Experience developing new clinical placement opportunities for nursing students.

Work Location and Schedule:
The position will be primarily in person on campus at WSU Vancouver. Hybrid work may be available after the initial training period.
Monthly Salary:
Minimum: $4,383 ($52,596/year); Midpoint: $5,481 ($65,772/year); Maximum: $6,579 ($79,948/year), Grade 4 Zone 3. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to the mid-point of the salary range.
