Job Summary

To perform Chemistry procedures. To transcribe and report test results and to operate laboratory instrumentation & equipment to accurately generate test results. To initiate troubleshooting of errant laboratory instrumentation & equipment as needed. To follow established quality control procedures and participate in all associated tasks in the section.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications

  • College graduate degree with a BA or BS in a related science Recent experience in clinical laboratory technology in Chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in high-volume, doing clinical laboratory testing.
  • Prefer experience with current automation used in a clinical laboratory.

License/Certification

  • State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license, or
  • State of California Clinical Chemistry Scientist license
