Job Description

The Clinical Instructor will instruct students on, and not limited to, conventional mills and lathes, CNC mills and lathes, CMM, surface grinders, blueprints, hand tools, math associated with machining, and MasterCam software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom and lab instruction to students
  • Prepare lesson plans and schedule classroom and lab activities
  • Develop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance
  • Provide classroom demonstrations on MasterCam and in lab on various machines
  • Maintain and submit all required attendance forms and grade roster
  • Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to required teaching area and in accordance with ISU policies and guidelines
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree and 4 years of full time work experience in the machining industry
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in both conventional and CNC machinery
  • Computer literacy and use of Microsoft Office program


Preferred Qualifications

Machining experience using:

  • Manual machining
  • MasterCam CAD/CAM software
  • CMM -CNC Mill and Lathe (Haas, Fadal, Mazak, Haas UMC)
  • Knowledge in blueprints and Gd&T

Additional Information

Salary will be between $55,000 - $60,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
